How to Make Thieves Oil and Why You Should Be Using it Daily

Thieves oil dates back to the Middle Ages when it was used as a prevention of the Black Plague, due to its powerful antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties.

A long time afterward, in the early 1990s, Gary Young studied essential oils and recreated this old recipe.

He found out that there are 17 different version of this recipe, and all stories mention different mixtures of oils. He started researching the properties of various oils and their ingredients. Therefore, he invented the perfect Thieves Oil blend for everyday use.

He discovered a proprietary oil blend known as Young Living Thieves Essential Oil. In the 15th century, merchants and spice traders traded with cinnamon and cloves from India across Europe.

Yet, the international shipping and trade were stopped due to the bubonic plague.

More and more people died, and the Thieves decided to loot the plague-ridden bodies and sell the shoes, clothes, jewelry from the dead bodies, as well as pots, pans, and trade them for food and money.

However, they were also aware of the medicinal properties of spices, oils, and vinegar, and believed they can help them prevent the plague from the victims.

Soon, the King found out about this repossession process and he wanted to know the secret to their health. His men caught 4 of the Thieves and he ordered them to choose- either to share their secret, or they will be burned at the stake.

They shared the recipe for the miraculous oil mixture and the word was spread around.

Nowadays, you can either buy it or prepare it at home. Here are a few recipes:
